Happy Birthday to ME!
I’m reporting to you live, from my new chaise lounge in my new sunroom. I am in hog heaven. Yeah, yeah okay – for you city- or New England- slickers, “hog heaven” is a cliché that means:
1. To feel happy and content.
2. To not feel the need to be anywhere other than where you are at that moment.
That is how I feel – happy and content. The southern sun comes through the window, warming a room full of plants and light. I love this room (especially since a half-wall hides the exercise equipment (ho ho)! This room is a gift from hubby – one of those “over-and-above” things he does for me all the time.
I’ve always wanted a chaise lounge and my son got me this wonderful one for Christmas. I’m having a lot of problem staying off it. It is addicting! You just stretch out with a good book or just stretch out and just be. I now fit the second description listed above – I don’t feel the need to be anywhere other than where I am right now!
Life used to be so busy, I met myself coming and going! I was so tightly scheduled that if one thing got off track, my entire day went down the tubes. Since I made the decision to enJOY my life to the fullest, I am almost zombie-relaxed. What, you ask, is that? Well, if you have to ask, you’ve never been in that state of contentment. I don’t think it is explainable to anyone who hasn’t been there. So I won’t even try. Suffice it to say, I am relaxxxxxxed!
I did have to reevaluate things and chose to get rid of some things I was doing to free up time to relax and enJOY my life. It is a good tradeoff. I also streamlined my house so it is super easy to clean. I am working to spend as little amount of time on housework as possible. I don’t make any commitments like I used to – people thing you have all the time in the world if you work at home. My time is valuable and precious to me!
I am also going to experience something very special tomorrow, Saturday the 12th. Since my birthday in on Monday and hubby works then, he has decided we will celebrate this Saturday – all day! He is going to be my slave for the day. Boy, is he dumb or what??
I warned him – don’t think I didn’t. Wonderful chick-flicks all day. No bon-bon’s since I’m on a diet, but I do have magazines to read that I am way behind on. NO dishes, cooking, laundry, housework, bill paying, or anything related to any of those items.
He is going to fix me light breakfast, a light lunch then a romantic candlelit dinner of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. He even bought a wonderful fluffy cheesecake-type dessert. I am so going to enJOY tomorrow. I don’t know if I am going to torture him or not. I’ll have to report on that at a later date.
So from the chaise lounge in the Loyd sunroom, I bid you a wonderful day. EnJOY your life!!
